Ingenious and “Photogenic” Bottle for Beverage Giant
Coca-Cola has created the First-Ever “Selfie” Bottle. Designed by Coca-Cola Israel for the Coca-Cola Summer Love event in July, the state-of-the-art device attaches to a Coke bottle, then senses the exact moment the bottle reaches a 70-degree tilt before snapping a photo. The selfie then zips off to your Snapchat, along with Coca-Cola Israel’s Facebook and Instagram. Only 10 Coca-Cola Selfie Bottles were created exclusively for Coca-Cola Summer Love, and there are currently no plans to produce more.

Students Invent New Type of Breakfast Muffin
University of Georgia(UGA) food science students have created a bread-free, microwavable breakfast sandwich that, if marketed, would fill a need for consumers on low-carbohydrate or gluten-free diets. Made from quinoa, ham and eggs, the product is high in protein and “somewhat similar” to quiche, said Yao-wen Huang, a food science professor in the UGA College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences. A team of seven students in his “New Food Product Development” class created the Southwestern Breakfast Egg Muffin and won first place in a competition sponsored by DuPont. The company required the new food products entered into the competition, contain at least two DuPont-produced ingredients.
