Technological advancements have massively reduced the cost and time needed to create and circulate content. The rise of creator-based consumption platforms and crowd-funding platforms, have all but eliminated many of the remaining barriers hindering independent content creation.

Although this new golden age of media abundance has liberated creatives, consumers are now drowning in a virtually infinite supply of things to watch, listen to and read.
