ICYMI: NTSC Wants Congress to Act on National Data Breach Legislation

In the aftermath of WannaCry and other cyber attacks and breaches, the voice of the chief information security officer has never been more important.

On The Hill, Patrick Gaul, executive director of the National Technology Security Coalition (NTSC), discusses the critical need for a national data breach notification legislation in order for Congress to protect consumers’ information effectively.

“In this dynamic cybersecurity environment, it is incumbent on the CISO to first develop and implement an information security strategy to defend against known threats from known adversaries. Secondly, they must devise a comprehensive security approach to anticipate new threats from a seemingly endless list of state and non-state actors.”
