Kenneth (Kent) Antley, Member, Miller & Martin PLLC
When did you get in involved with TAG?
1987 when I joined Business & Technology Alliance. I was President of BETA when it formed TAG with SSA and WIT.
What’s the best thing about TAG in your opinion?
It creates awareness in Georgia about the importance of companies creating technology to make business and our lives better.
What does your organization do?
Miller & Martin PLLC is a law firm.
How big is your operation in Georgia?
We have 50 attorneys in Atlanta and 95 in Chattanooga, many of whom service Georgia clients.
What do you do at your organization?
I represent many start up and midsized technology related companies.
Why and how did you get started?
I have always had an interest in technology and the best way for an attorney to develop business is to become known in a particular industry.
How do you think Georgia has emerged as a strong player in technology?
Through the research done at Ga. Tech, Emory and UGA, with the business assistance of TAG and incubators such as ATDC, Georgia is a great place to start a tech company.
What must Georgia do to maintain its momentum in the tech industry?
Georgia must improve its K -12 education, Atlanta has to improve its transportation infrastructure and the state government must provide more support for tech companies getting started within the state, including more investment by state pensions in VC’s and subsidized wet labs.
What is your next big project?
Representing a tech company being bought because it has been successful.
Name one thing that people would be surprised to know about you.
I love classical choral music. I met my wonderful wife in a community chorus.
