DC Fly In

TAG's Government Affairs Team and TechAmerica hosted the DC Fly-In, where members were able to hold face-to-face meetings with Congressional members and their staffs, and attend the Tech Policy Summit where they discussed how public policy is affecting cybersecurity, small business and the IT workforce.

Home Depot Innovation Center

The new Home Depot Technology Center, located in Tech Square, hosted its’ grand opening on January 22nd. The Technology Center plans on working with Georgia Tech students and select Georgia startups.

Google Fiber Announcement

The Technology Association of Georgia (TAG), the nation’s largest state trade association dedicated to technology, joined Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed, several metro area leaders and executives from Google at a special press conference to kick off the coming of Google Fiber.

The event is expected to draw teams of programmers from across the nation to compete for $30,000 in cash and prizes, while helping to give (hack) back to three of the nation’s leading non-profit organizations: American Cancer Society, Boys & Girls Clubs of America, and Points of Light /Hands on Network.

The TAG Excalibur Awards, hosted in collaboration with our Business & Technology Alliance society recognize the companies and organizations throughout Georgia that demonstrate the best use of technology, typically provided by a third-party, to solve complex business problems. A tech-enabled company may also develop its own non-commercial technology solutions to enhance the business.

2014 Techie 10K

Each year hundreds of health-conscious technologists  participate in this special day of competition and networking with a portion of the proceeds going towards the TAG-Education Collaborative, a 501c3 organization with a mission to strengthen the state's workforce via science technology, engineering and math (STEM) education initiatives. Event sponsors and other vendors will showcase their product and/or services at the finish area.
