Serial Entrepreneur, David Cummings will invest $20 million in early stage tech companies across the Southeast. According to the Atlanta Business Chronicle, the new fund is Cummings’ second in five years and will invest in business-to-business (B2B) software and Internet services. The fund, which includes partners Jon Birdsong and Albert Gimbel, expects to make 12 to 15 new investments over three years.
In 2007, Cummings co-founded Pardot which focused on Marketing Automation. The company was acquired by ExactTarget/Salesforce.com in 2012 for $95 million. Soon after the acquisition, Cummings purchased what is today the Atlanta Tech Village. “The Village” is located in the heart of Buckhead and is the 4th largest tech hub in the country. More than 300 startups call the Atlanta Tech Village home. He formed Atlanta Ventures to invest in technology companies that put culture first, provide a great service, and love what they do.
