Atlanta’s Bitpay to Relocate HQ to Alpharetta

ALPHARETTA, GA– June 19, 2017– Atlanta-based BitPay, will reportedly relocate from its offices in Buckhead to a 224,000-square-foot office tower in Alpharetta’s Avalon mixed-use development in September.

AvalonAccording to The Atlanta Business Chronicle, BitPay was drawn to Avalon because of the development’s ability to attract tech companies.

BitPay is a global bitcoin (BitcoinSign.svg) payment service provider founded in May 2011. The company provides payment processing services for merchants, and is one of the largest bitcoin payment processors in the world.

Bitcoins are a type of digital currency in which encryption techniques are used to regulate the generation of units of currency and verify the transfer of funds, operating independently of a central bank.
