ATLANTA, GA– August 16, 16– Last month, GE Digital announced that it will establish its first global Digital Operations Center in Atlanta. Now, in a move to bring together digital capabilities from across GE in a single organization, the company is reportedly looking at Atlanta’s Buckhead for its new 250-job IT headquarters.
According to the Atlanta Business Chronicle, the company is said to be seeking 50,000 square feet to locate the unit, which over time could grow to more than 400 jobs.
Buckhead is home to more than 100 technology-based companies including major tech employers AT&T, IBM, CareerBuilder, Sony Ericsson, American Software, Cricket Wireless, PGi, Wipro Ltd. and soon payments transaction company, Global Payments. GE is just the latest tech-focused company scouting the area.
