ATLANTA– September 17th, 2015– At a special kickoff ceremony, Google announced the opening of its Google Fiber Academy, its first-ever training facility based in Metro Atlanta.
Located near Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, the 24,000-square-foot facility will serve as place where Google Fiber vendors and in-home installers from around the country can come to take courses including how to provide high quality customer service, the best techniques for installing Google Fiber, and the most helpful ways to demo Google fiber products for customers.
Ultimately the facility aims to help keep Google Fiber customer service standards high across all of the company’s Fiber cities.
Google Fiber is a “gigabit” Internet service which is 100 times faster than basic broadband. Google is in the process of laying out fiber infrastructure in Atlanta, Avondale Estates, Brookhaven, College Park, Decatur, East Point, Hapeville, Sandy Springs and Smyrna. Google will design the high-speed network to cover all nine Atlanta cities area, but build it out based on demand.
