ATLANTA, GA — August 14, 2017– German-based discount grocery chain Aldi Inc. is launching a pilot project with Instacart Inc., to deliver groceries to customers in three cities, including Atlanta.
According to Reuters, the grocer is launching the project in Los Angeles, Atlanta and Dallas, with plans to expand the service in more cities in the future, pending the success of the pilot program. The service, which is expected to start by the end of the month, will allow customers to order groceries from Aldi online and receive their deliveries within an hour, the company says.
The move builds upon the grocer’s plans to invest $3.4 billion towards renovations and adding more stores nationwide over the next five years. Aldi currently operates more than 50 stores in Georgia.
