Who’s at the top of the fast-food chain? Currently, Chick-fil-a, the popular Atlanta-native quick-service restaurant, is proving that chicken paired with prime customer service can reign supreme among fast-food consumers. Chick-fil-a ranks No. 8 on NRN’s 2017 Top 100 report, an annual proprietary ranking of the foodservice industry’s largest restaurant chains and parent companies.
Chick-fil-A’s unit volumes have grown at a higher rate over the past two years than any other chain on our Top 100 — which is remarkable for one of the 10 largest chains in the country.
Over the past five years, Chick-fil-A’s systemwide sales have increased nearly 73 percent, to nearly $7.9 billion from $4.6 billion, according to newly released NRN Top 100 data.
The inventor of the chicken sandwich owes much of its recent boom in sales to its comprehensive, widely received mobile app that allows hungry customers to bypass the lunch line, ordering and making payments in advance. Chick-fil-A One also grants specialty offerings to customers who opt-in to its loyalty program.
