Tech Startup Disrupting Trash Biz Raising $50 Million

ATLANTA, GA– August 31, 2016 — Rubico Global, a provider of sustainable cloud-based waste and recycling solutions, is reportedly raising $50 Million. According to the Atlanta Business Chronicle, the Atlanta-based company known for it’s “Uber” approach to business, has raised $96 million so far and may be planning an initial public stock offering.

Rubicon_LogoRubicon, which is backed by Hollywood Superstar, Leonardo DiCaprio, has been making a lot of news in recent months. The company recently hired top Uber Strategist Michael Allegretti to lead its public policy efforts and earlier this month, it announced a partnership with environmental data expert Trucost to provide its customers with accurate, accessible data on greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from their waste.

In May its Founder/CEO Nate Morris was named a finalist for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year 2016 Award in the Southeast. In April, Rubicon said it would relocate its headquarters from Atlanta’s central Perimeter to the “tech corridor” of the city’s Buckhead area.
