Spurred on by rapid success across the Gulf States, the restaurant on-demand platform Waitr arrives in Savannah April 26.
The Waitr app lets you order from your favorite Savannah restaurant then sends a Waitr driver to deliver it to your door for a flat fee of $5.
Waitr’s appeal goes directly to those who don’t want to – or cannot – leave their home or office for their favorite restaurant meal. Waitr has proven to be wildly popular in cities throughout Tennessee, South Carolina, Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, Florida, Arkansas and Texas. Savannah is fourth city in the state; Waitr had a record-breaking launch day when it debuted Columbus in February and has since expanded into Augusta and Macon.
Waitr expects to grow quickly in Savannah, as well. To meet the anticipated demand, the company expects to hire 150 people in the area. Drivers can apply at https://waitrapp.com/become-a-driver.
Dozens of Savannah-area restaurants have already signed with Waitr, including PJ’s Corner, Rancho Alegre Cuban Restaurant, Noble Fare, The Howlin Hound, Loc’s Chicken & Waffles, Hooters, Sweet Melissa’s, Dickey’s Barbecue, Wasabi’s Downtown, Tangerine Fusion & Sushi Bar, Loc’s Chicken & Waffles, and Seasons of Japan. Many more are expected to be added in the coming weeks.
