COLUMBUS, GA– November 13, 2015– During a recent Columbus City Council meeting held earlier this month, a proposal was unveiled to develop a technology park which would be located off of I-185 on the north side of Fort Benning.
The proposal for the technology park also includes the prospect of another Columbus State University campus, restaurants and retail stores. Business owners will even be allowed to design their own building within the park.
All of the structures built on the technology park would be environmentally friendly and ‘green’.
A tax allocation district or ‘tads’ would be created where Fort Benning technology park would be built. Tads are areas where bonds are given out to contractors to develop areas that are either run down or have minimal businesses to create revenue.
