ATLANTA, December 8, 2015 – Cresa, North America’s leading tenant representation firm, represented Axion Biosystems in an expansion to approximately 12,500 square feet of office space at 1819 Peachtree Road NE, Atlanta, Georgia, 30309. Bo Keatley, Vice President with Cresa Atlanta, advised the company in its current expansion and the initial lease negotiations for 8,165 square feet in 2013.
Led by a Georgia Tech alumnus, Axion Biosystems is a life science company headquartered in Atlanta. The company develops innovative electronic stimulation technology with applications for life science instrumentation, medical diagnostics, and implantable stimulation devices. Axion’s life science instruments are utilized worldwide by pharmaceutical and biotech companies, academics, and government agencies to model and analyze brain and heart activity in human cells.
“We had an urgent need for expansion space due to rapidly growing year over year sales,” said Tom O’Brien, CEO of Axion Biosystems. “We did not want to relocate since our current location is very convenient and accessible for our employees. We turned to Bo to negotiate a lease for more space that fit our budget.”
Bo Keatley, Vice President of Cresa Atlanta explained, “Within two short years, Axion outgrew its current space. We were fortunate that the existing building could accommodate the company’s rapid growth and that we were able to negotiate favorable economic terms.” Keatley added, “The expansion will provide enough space to make this location work better both short- and long-term.” The build-out is currently under construction with an expected completion date of early 2016.
Kevin Kiefer with ELV Associates negotiated the lease on behalf of the building owner, Palisades East LLC. Peachtree Palisades is a seven-story office building totaling 129,245 square feet. Located in the Lower Buckhead submarket, the building is within walking distance to several restaurants, transportation options and Piedmont Hospital.
