ATLANTA–Mar. 11, 2016–Start-up mobile product, service and m-commerce entrepreneurs are invited to test their mettle in a shark tank-like competition judged by industry experts and attendees during the Mobile X Festival an Un-Conference taking place on May 11-12 at the Georgia Tech Scheller College of Business in Atlanta.
Contestants from early and later-stage mobile start-ups will be judged during the Mobile Accelerator shark tank-like competition on the morning of May 12 by experts from companies such as Google, CNN, Coca-Cola and Kimberly-Clark. Mobile X Festival Un-Conference attendees also will get to vote on the winners.
Mobile Accelerator competition winners will be treated to lunch with Doug Busk, Coca-Cola Co. global group director of digital communications and social media, and will be interviewed on the Dana Barrett show, part of the Wall Street Business Network. Winners also will receive recognition from the VC community, the 60 Second Marketer and Hypepotamus.
Any mobile product or service that is less than three years old is eligible for the Mobile Accelerator competition. Competitors will have a four-minute shark tank-like presentation to the judges and another four minutes for Q&A. Judges and the audience will then vote on the product or service. The winners will be announced at the end of the day.
Mobile Accelerator contestants will receive two free Mobile X Festival tickets for each presentation team. In addition, a discount code will be provided so that friends and family can cheer contestants on (and vote) at the competition.
“We’re looking for the next great mobile product or service,” said Jamie Turner, Mobile X Festival founder and CEO of SIXTY. “The Mobile X Festival will provide exposure to nationally renowned industry experts and Un-Conference attendees and quite possibly provide the launch platform for a budding business.”
The Mobile Accelerator competition is sponsored by Hypepotamus, the go-to source of news, events, job listings and resources for the flourishing Atlanta tech industry.
In addition to the Mobile Accelerator shark tank-like competition, the Mobile X Festival will feature unconventional activities including virtual reality pods and round table discussions led by experts from Google, Georgia Tech and Coca-Cola.
The Mobile X Festival also will include master classes on mobile marketing, generating leads via LinkedIn Mobile and multi-channel marketing, B2B mobile marketing and the current and future state of mobile on May 11. Sessions on May 12 include the Mobile Accelerator shark tank-like competition and the Mobile X Charity Laboratory, an interactive experience designed to teach attendees how to use mobile for business and philanthropy. Afternoon round tables will include insider tips on Google, mobile and emerging technology, and big data. A Fear Factor-style mobile panel discussion with panelists from Fortune 500 companies will answer your questions; if they’re wrong, they will have to drink a gross-out fluid and if they’re right, you will! Throughout the day, experience centers featuring virtual reality pods and in-person experts ready to answer questions and challenges will engage attendees. The Mobile X Festival will conclude with the Mobile Accelerator Awards for the winning mobile concept as determined by attendees and expert panelists.
The Mobile X Festival is presented by Sixty and the Georgia Tech Scheller College of Business. Speakers, panelists and guest attendees include representatives from CNN, Coca-Cola, E. & J. Gallo Winery, 4INFO, the Georgia Tech Scheller College of Business, Google, Kimberly-Clark, mCordis and Microsoft.
