ATLANTA, GA — April 13, 2017– Today, the Cobb Chamber and the Sandy Springs Perimeter Chamber have launched Cobbgameday.com to educate Braves fans, commuters and local employers on the best ways to access SunTrust Park, navigate the Cumberland area and how they can alleviate congestion during weekday Braves home games. The site offers quick and easy access to essential gameday and local event information, whether you’re going to the game, working in the area or traveling home on gameday. The site features extensive information on Braves parking and transportation options, helpful videos, and important resources, such as parking maps and bus routes.
“Since the beginning of the year, our two communities have come together to discuss both short-term and long-term goals related to gameday traffic and transit options,” said David Connell, President and CEO of the Cobb Chamber of Commerce. “This website is a major action item from our meetings, and its goal is to share how local businesses can have a positive impact on the success of gamedays for everyone.”
“We are excited about this partnership and the launch of cobbgameday.com, as it provides a comprehensive place for Braves fans, commuters, and employers to better understand the individual roles they can play on each gameday,” said Tom Mahaffey, President and CEO of the Sandy Springs Perimeter Chamber.
Cobbgameday.com encourages fans and commuters alike to “cover your bases” and make a plan for gameday. For fans traveling to the area for a game, purchasing parking in advance will streamline how they access SunTrust Park—before and after the game. Each parking lot has an address and fans who use the Waze app can be directed to their specific lot. For commuters, a gameday plan could be utilizing a telework day or a flexible work schedule to leave the office before fans begin arriving in Cumberland. Cobbgameday.com offers each audience resources to build their gameplans—links to Cobb Commute, the Cumberland Circulator, Georgia Commute Options, and Braves transportation and parking information.
“Above all, both Tom and I believe if Braves fans, commuters and companies utilize Cobbgameday.com and make a plan that allots for extra time and added patience, everyone will have a better gameday experience,” said Connell.
