ATLANTA– July 17, 2015– Venture Atlanta, the Southeast’s premier technology innovation event, announced today that Jeff Sprecher, Founder, Chairman and CEO of Intercontinental Exchange (NYSE: ICE) and Chairman of the New York Stock Exchange, will address attendees during its annual VIP dinner. The invitation-only, exclusive event will be held the first night of the conference, Tuesday, October 20. Sprecher will share his financial industry expertise and vision with national investors, entrepreneurs and event sponsors attending the dinner.
Sprecher acquired the predecessor company to ICE for $1, building a company with a market capitalization over $25 billion in 15 years through organic growth and acquisitions. Since the formation of ICE in 2000, Sprecher has led numerous strategic acquisitions, including the International Petroleum Exchange of London, the New York Board Trade, Creditex, The Clearing Corporation, the Climate Exchange, NYSE Euronext and Singapore Mercantile Exchange.
Sprecher is also an active member and leader in multiple initiatives, particularly in the Atlanta entrepreneurial community. He is Chairman of the Buckhead Coalition and is on the board of directors of the Metro Atlanta Chamber, The Commerce Club and Atlanta Committee for Progress, and is on the advisory board for the Georgia Institute of Technology. In addition, Sprecher is a member of the Energy Security Leadership Council and a Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation Trustee.
