ATLANTA, GA– July 5, 2016– Through the agreement with SAP, Parkmobile will help strengthen the SAP Vehicles Network by adding Parkmobile’s inventory of more than 2,000 locations, including on-street parking in 35 of the top 100 U.S. cities, off-street parking garages, airports, stadiums, universities, and transit decks across the U.S. and Canada. In addition, this partnership aims to enable Parkmobile to delivery-complimentary services and solutions to its over 5 million users, including fueling and food services. The SAP Vehicles Network enables drivers in North America to share data from the Internet of Things (IoT), activate gas pumps, pay at the pump, reserve parking, open off-street parking gates, and pay for on-street parking from the car through a mobile wallet or app.
“We are pleased to work with SAP to extend access to Parkmobile’s unrivalled network of parking inventory and mobility services into the connected car experience and provide consumers with convenient end-to-end mobility services. Further, by joining the SAP Vehicles Network, we plan to extend the breadth of mobility services which we make available to more than 5 million Parkmobile users across the U.S. and Canada,” said Jon Ziglar, CEO of Parkmobile.
The SAP Vehicles Network harnesses the power of SAP HANA® Cloud Platform for the Internet of Things and offers member companies and partners the opportunity to create new mobility services and apps for consumer use. It improves the way drivers can benefit from mobile and geo-location services. This end-to-end digital mobile user experience can cover the entire trip, helping drivers before and after the journey as well. SAP Vehicles Network also allows app providers and automotive companies an opportunity to gain access to tens of thousands of mobile payment-enabled parking garages and gas stations in key markets. As a result, companies can improve the driver and passenger’s digital experience by using mobile wallets and third-party apps for an integrated in-vehicle experience.
“The addition of Parkmobile to the SAP Vehicles Network is another step in further establishing the SAP Vehicles Network as the most comprehensive mobility and vehicles-centric marketplace in North America,” said Gil Perez, SVP Digital Assets & IoT, general manger Connected Vehicles SAP SE. “The onboarding of Parkmobile, a proven leader, will help further enhance the SAP Vehicles Network value proposition to our channel partners and offer end users the broadest parking options. The combination of Parkmobile parking inventory and additional SAP Vehicles Network services will help enable sales channels to deliver a unique, simple and delightful end user experience.”
