ATLANTA, GA & LARAMIE, WY – November 9, 2016— Parkmobile, LLC, the leading provider for on-demand and prepaid mobile payments for on- and off-street parking, and the University of Wyoming announced today a program that allows customers to use their mobile phones to pay for parking. The service will be offered on the University’s off-street multi-space lot in approximately 100 spaces. Customers can pay for parking with their phones using Parkmobile’s mobile app for iPhone, Android, and Windows smartphones, or by calling the toll-free number on the green meter stickers and signs. University of Wyoming is Parkmobile’s first deployment in the state of Wyoming, as well as the 46th University for the company.
“We’re really excited about integrating the Parkmobile service with our new pay stations. The ability for customers to manage their parking via smartphones should provide a very efficient means of parking for Day Lot customers,” said UW Transit & Parking Services Manager, Paul Kunkel.
To use the new Parkmobile system, customers register free at www.parkmobile.com or by downloading the app in their phone’s app store. Once registered, they can use a mobile app, internet, or call toll free to pay for parking. After setting up their account, customers can immediately begin using the system with their registered mobile device. Enforcement officers will be able to see that a motorist has paid with Parkmobile using a wireless handheld device. Mobile app users may also choose to receive alerts and customizable reminders prior to expiration of their parking session. Time limits on meters still apply and the app will not allow users to purchase more time than allotted by the meters. Parkmobile’s mobile payment solution is an added payment option and is intended to complement existing parking payment options. All existing forms of payment are still valid for meter use. The Day Lot is open to anyone and is a great option for parking on campus for short periods of time. This lot offers a convenient and flexible parking option for all campus visitors, students, and employees.
