ATLANTA, GA— May 04, 2016– Sharecare, the digital health and wellness engagement platform founded by Internet entrepreneur Jeff Arnold and Dr. Mehmet Oz, received top honors at the 7th Annual TAG Southeastern Software Association (SSA) Impact Awards. As winner of the Impact Award in the SSA Standout: Mobile Health category, Sharecare was recognized for demonstrating outstanding leadership in bringing new technology solutions to the market through its innovative voice analysis application.
“Sharecare is forging uncharted territory with respect to providing consumers ways to be better aware of their health, which will lead improved health outcomes,” said Tino Mantella, president of the Technology Association of Georgia. “Although the competition for SSA’s Mobile Health award was formidable, Sharecare’s cutting edge technology stood out as a model for innovation that is worthy of the prestigious award.”
Sharecare’s proprietary voice analysis technology was built to help people improve self-awareness, personal relationships, well-being and, ultimately, their overall health by analyzing the spectral-data in the tone of their voice during phone calls. The Android-exclusive Sharecare app is available through a crowd-sourced, adaptive trial exploring how providing people with real-time feedback on stress, behaviors and relationships analyzed through the tone of their voices will lead them to make positive changes in their lives, transforming stress into happiness. The Institute for People and Technology at Georgia Tech is managing the trial’s protocol and analysis, with Dr. Sanjay Gupta – a practicing neurosurgeon and CNN’s chief medical correspondent – overseeing the clinical validity of the trial as its chief architect.
“Being recognized by Georgia’s technology community in this way is an incredible honor,” said Erik Feingold, chief innovation officer of Sharecare and inventor of the voice analysis technology. “At Sharecare, we are laser focused on building products that improve people’s health and wellness, and SSA’s recognition of our innovation is a humbling reminder that we’re making a difference.”
Since its launch in February 2015, the Sharecare voice app has garnered critical acclaim, including being named a finalist in the 2015 Appy Awards for Best Health & Fitness App, and receiving honors from the Digital Health Awards and the International Business Awards.
