TAG-Ed Announces Inaugural Horizon Awards Winners
Atlanta (August 11, 2016)- TAG Education Collaborative (TAG-Ed), the charitable affiliate of the Technology Association of Georgia (TAG), is pleased to announce the winners of the inaugural Horizon Awards. Winners were recognized at the King Plow Arts Center on Wednesday, August 3.
The Horizon Awards is an end-of-internship celebration to honor the interns, mentors, and host companies that have worked to broaden Georgia’s future workforce horizons through the TAG-Ed Summer Internship Program. To date, over 800 local high school students have been placed in rewarding five-week STEM internships at local companies, non-profits, and start-ups.
The 2016 Horizon Awards winners include:
The Accelerator Award: Jen Kate Hoskin, intern at Georgia Tech Research Institute
Industry Impact Award: Kaitlin Kress, mentor at Novelis
Revolutionary Award: Helen Yang, intern at Adapture Technology Group
Youth Advocate Award: Andrew Windham, College Planning Institute
Youth Advocate Award: Stacey Rivers, Turner
Youth Advocate Award: Dan Drechsel, HireIQ Solutions
Youth Advocate Award: Dr. Erick Maxwell, Georgia Tech Research Institute
Tell Your Story Winner: Ton Nguyen, intern at AT&T
Pinnacle Student Award: Erico Corbett, intern at Turner
Pinnacle Mentor Award: Andy Cabistan, mentor at Watson Works
Student winners were awarded scholarships for post-secondary education.
