US Auto Sales Expands Adoption of Cirrity Desktop as a Service; Achieves Record Sales After BlueWave Computing Collaboration

Atlanta, GA – April 17, 2015 – Cirrity, a leading channel-only secure cloud services provider, today announced that US Auto Sales has expanded its deployment of Cirrity’s Cisco Powered Desktop as a Service (DaaS) solution―built using VMware Horizon Air―from 70 virtual desktops to 94. Working with Atlanta-based Managed Service Provider BlueWave Computing, LLC, over the past year, US Auto Sales has increased its deployment from 15 virtual desktops initially to the current total of 94 virtual desktops throughout its 17 dealerships.

“What began as an effort with BlueWave to select a disaster recovery solution has turned into a permanent strategy for us,” said US Auto Sales Director of IT and Facilities Travis McKeone. “By exchanging traditional computers for cloud-based desktops on thin clients, we can afford to expand the number of desktops available to our salespeople, which lets them process more sales, more quickly. We are breaking every record we ever had.”

According to McKeone, by deploying DaaS, US Auto Sales has mitigated the risk of having customers lose interest when salespeople didn’t have systems available to process paperwork and meet the high demand for US Auto Sales’ vehicles. Now, nearly every salesperson has on-demand access to a network-connected, Windows 7 desktop that can access US Auto Sales’ cloud-based applications and data.

Furthermore, the cost of provisioning a desktop, including the hardware on which it runs, has dropped from $1500 per machine to $350 (for basic systems used by collections staff) or $600 (for all-in-one machines used by sales personnel). McKeone also reports that the decision is saving the company technical support expense. Provisioning time has dropped from six to eight hours for a new PC to less than one-and-a-half hours for a thin client with the DaaS image. Desktop support is also included in the monthly fee, resulting in an additional savings.
