Increasingly consumer companies like Coca-Cola have been trying to gain foothold in the online space in India.  So much so, that the Atlanta-based company now plans to sell its products through an online platform as part of a new function called Franchise Capability & Business Transformation. The move is designed to strengthen supply chain, technology and processes at the company’s franchise bottlers to make them “future-ready” for digital selling. Coca-Cola India runs a website — Coke2Home, which delivers its products to around 15 locations across the country. Coca-Cola operates 65 company-owned bottling plants and 35 plants that are franchisee-owned.

Georgia Company Makes the Food Logistics 100+ Top Software and Technology Providers List

Atlanta-based Blue Ridge, a global leader in cloud demand forecasting, planning, replenishment, allocation and analytics, has been named to the 2016 Food Logistics 100+ Top Software and Technology Providers list for the fourth consecutive year. The list serves as a resource guide of software and technology providers whose products and services are critical for companies in the global food and beverage supply chain. Food Logistics is a trade publication produced by AC Business Media.

Atlanta Preps for Expansion of Shared Kitchen Facility

Prep, the Atlanta-based shared kitchen facility and culinary incubator, is planning a $7million expansion that will create a campus-style environment for its culinary tenants. The organization has acquired 68,000 square feet of space adjacent to its current facility near the intersection of Interstates 85 and 285.  The first phase of the development will be to convert one of its two newly acquired buildings into 33,000 square feet of culinary production space called PREP2. Construction is scheduled to begin in January 2017. The company hopes to make the space available to PREP members by mid-2017.

Beer + Exercise— in Savannah??

Drinking beer seems to be on the opposite side of the spectrum from rigorous exercise. However, this combination is exactly what’s on the menu for a group of avid home brewers and beer fans in the Creative Coast City of Savannah. Local residents Raymond Gaddy, Keith Dion and Lee Heidel have created, a craft beer and fitness website and podcast. The group is also responsible for the Savannah Craft Beer app that features a beer and bar finder that will give suggestions based on your location; a regularly updated calendar as well as a local Savannah craft beer news feed. the app is free and available for iPhone and Android.  But why— Beer and running??  Drinking beer adds extra calories into your diet. Running burns calories. It’s simple math.
