Georgia Tech and Veterans Health Administration Forge Health IT Collaboration

Two significant non-commercial Health IT organizations are collaboratively working in a new vendor-neutral health IT innovation network system, aimed to fuel development of new initiatives and shorten the duration time required to bring forth new solutions into preparation.

Georgia Tech is alleged to be the first academic institute to associate directly to VHA’s system. The following organizations, The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Veterans Health Administration’s (VHA) Innovation Sandbox Cloud and the Georgia Institute of Technology’s Interoperability and Integration Innovation Lab, will work in partnership to acknowledge interoperability issues, quicken the development of integrated health IT solutions, deliver an equitable atmosphere for testing new products, in addition to assist with training the IT workforce desired in order to move the industry forward.

The two organizations have signed a legal document geared towards accepting to formally connect innovation facilities and permit researchers from both organizations to act as a team on specific projects.
