Global Payments confirmed as “Project Spinoza,” with plans to expand; relocate to Buckhead


ATLANTA, GA– July 7, 2016– Global Payments has been revealed as the payment processor moving its headquarters to intown Atlanta, with plans for $220M in investments in the area. The company currently has its HQ in Sandy Springs.

According to the Atlanta Business Chronicle, city officials had been working on a secret “Project Spinoza,” which was the Global Payments move.

The company is also planning a 125 job expansion in Sandy Springs as it relocates its HQ  to Buckhead. Global Payments will also invest $16 million as it builds out 150,000 square feet of office space at its Glenlake Parkway headquarters in Sandy Springs. Combined, the dual expansions would create more than 275 jobs in metro Atlanta.

Atlanta’s city council will vote on a $75K grant for the company from an Economic Opportunity Fund sometime this week.
