The new Atlanta landmark, the Mercedes-Benz Stadium, has gained more recognition for its built-in sustainability. Featuring the largest LED display in sports (a 1,075-foot-long, 58-foot high, 360-degree Halo video board with some 63,000 square feet of video real estate) and a 101-foot, four-sided video column, the Mercedes-Benz Stadium has won one of many accolades that are sure to come in the future.

Much of its technological infrastructure for the home of the Atlanta Falcons and Atlanta United FC has been integrated by IBM Cloud, SportsTechie notes. NCR Corporation also contributed to the personalized fan experience by installing its seamless payments systems across consumer touchpoints, from food vendors to ticketing.

The nominees for the SportTechie Award for Most Innovative Venue were

  • Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Atlanta, Georgia
  • Levi’s Stadium, Santa Clara, California
  • Golden 1 Center, Sacramento, California
