PEACHTREE CORNERS, GA — March 7, 2016 — Classworks®, by Curriculum Advantage, Inc., a leader in digital instruction, today announced adoption of OneRosterTM , a more efficient and secure standard for exchanging student information. This new interoperability standard developed by the IMS Global Learning Consortium simplifies the exchange of class rosters from one system to another. OneRoster will be available in Classworks for the 2016 – 2017 school year.
School districts are challenged with manually uploading rosters into a variety of digital learning resources, with most requiring a manual input or a unique template. The OneRoster open technology standard replaces multiple class roster templates with one common format that works for every program. Classworks’ User Synchronization Service, using IMS Global OneRoster, automatically provisions users, classes and group enrollment information based on the user data in a district’s student information system.
“As early adopters of IMS Global’s Learning Tools Interoperability (LTI®) standards, Classworks is committed to making high quality instruction open and available in as many ways as possible,” said Classworks Sr. Vice President of Technology and Development, Jerry Henley. “By incorporating OneRoster, Classworks removes the complexity of class roster imports and supports partners with one open, standards-based data format.”
Classworks is eager to support districts as they implement a more efficient and secure way to share data. “OneRoster simplifies how we exchange information across our digital ecosystem. Classworks’ rapid adoption of these open standards allows us to automatically exchange secure faculty and roster data, saving time and resources,” explains Keith Osburn, Chief Information Officer, Jeff Davis County Schools. “Classworks continues to evolve with our district, supporting our need for digital curriculum that integrates seamlessly for superior teaching and learning.”
